Are You G? respects your privacy and observes necessary measures in protecting and managing personal information of every data subject. It adheres to the principles of transparency, legitimate purpose and proportionality. Are You G? is committed in providing our Users awareness about personal data collection, and freedom of Users to exercise their rights and other options defined, limited and set forth under the provisions of Philippine Republic Act No. 10173, otherwise known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012.

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy by posting a new version on our App. If we make any material changes, we will notify you by posting a notice in the Service prior to the change becoming effective. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date will be subject to the new Privacy Policy.

In this Are You G? privacy policy, unless the context requires otherwise, the following terms shall have the following meaning:

1. “Data Subject” and “User(s)” or “You” shall be used interchangeably. It shall refer to all persons who use the Services of Are You G? whose data privacy rights are protected hereunder in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012;
2. “Service” shall refer to the mobile application Are You G?, and websites under its trademark;
3. “Mobile Application” and “App” shall refer to Are You G? App;
4. “Plans” shall refer to plans you create within the Mobile Application;
5. “Post” shall refer to posts you create within the Mobile Application.
6. “Tags” shall refer to the tags you can choose within the Mobile Application.

There are three basic categories of information we collect:

• Information you provide.
• Information we get when you use our services.
• Information we get from third parties.

1. Information you provide:

   • Personal Information. The personal information of Users shall be collected upon signing up. These details shall be limited to the following:

     • Username
     • Name
     • Email address
   • Data from usage. Information you send through the Service, such as Posts, Plans, and chat messages. The same common sense that applies to the internet at large applies to Are You G? as well: Don’t send messages or share content that you wouldn’t want someone to save or share.
   • Voluntary Information. When you contact customer support or communicate with us in any other way, we’ll collect whatever information you volunteer or that we need to resolve your question.

2. Information we get when you use our services:

   • Usage Information. We collect information about your activity through our services. For example, we may collect information about:

     • How you interact with the Service, such as which Plans you accept or reject, which Tags you use, which friends you interact with, and which Locations you visit through the Plans

   • Location Information. When you use our services we may collect information about your location. With your permission, we may also collect information about your precise location using methods that include GPS, wireless networks, cell towers, and Wi-Fi access points. This is primarily used to show places and friends near you.

   • Device Information. We collect information from and about the devices you use. For example, we collect:

     • Information about your hardware and software, such as the hardware model, operating system version, device memory, advertising identifiers, unique device identifiers, browser type, language, battery level, and time zone;
     • Information about your wireless and mobile network connections, such as IP address and mobile phone carrier.

3. Information we get from third parties:

   • Social Account Information. We use Facebook, Google, and Apple sign-in to make the sign-up process more seamless. Thus, the following information may be collected from the User's social accounts: (1) name; (2) gender; (3) birthday; (4) profile picture; (5) friends in Facebook who likewise use the mobile application.
   • Demographic Data. Information which determines the coarse location of the User’s IP address.
   • Others. Are You G? is inclined to gather data from platforms the Mobile Application runs with; and data for advertising, promotional and analytics purposes.

In all instances, these information are collected according to Are You G?‘s commitment to provide the best Service.

The personal information of each data subject is collected for the specific purposes as follows:

1. To develop, operate, improve, deliver, maintain, and protect our products and services;
2. To connect you with other Users of the Mobile Application;
3. To send you communications such as updates, security alerts, and support messages by email;
4. To provide User support;
5. To monitor and analyze trends and usage of data subjects;
6. To personalize the Service for Users by customizing the content showed by Are You G? including but not limited to advertisements and recommendations;
7. To verify the User’s identity for purposes of preventing fraud and/or other unauthorized or illegal activity;
8. To use location information in order to find friends, places, and plans that are close to you;
9. To analyze, profile, and segment all collected data to provide the best Service as possible.

In all of the above cases and purposes, we may analyze, profile and segment all collected data.

We may share information about you in the following ways:

• With other users. Social features are a core component of the App. For example, other users may see your posts, common plans, top friends, and how far you are from them if you’ve enabled location services.

• With third parties. Are You G? engages the services of third-party service providers to process data in accord to the instructions provided by Are You G?. The information disclosed relates only to hosting, chat, User support, advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Below are the links to the policies provided by the third parties to which Are You G? is in partnership with:

  • Mixpanel, for analytics
  • Firebase Analytics, for analytics
  • Apple, for sign-on
  • Facebook, for sign-on
  • Sentry, for error tracking
  • Google Play Services, for Google services
  • AWS, for hosting and email services

• With Legal authorities, if needed. Are You G? shall not be held liable when disclosure of personal information is mandated by law, directed by a legal obligation, or demanded by national security and public interest. We may share information about you if we reasonably believe that disclosing the information is needed to comply with any valid legal process and protect the rights, property, or safety of us, our users, and our different stakeholders.

• With Advertising, Social Media Partners, and Partnered establishments.The Service includes features from our partners, such as social media interaction tools, and in-app advertising, as well as promotions and recommendations from our partnered establishments, and merchants. These partners may access your data and operate under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to check their privacy policies to learn more about their data processing practices.

We may also share with third parties that provide services to us or perform business purposes for us aggregated, non-personally identifiable, or de-identified information.

Data stored by Are You G? (such as user data, chat messages, posts, and plans) is encrypted at rest with industry standard AES-256 encryption. All data transmission is encrypted in transit using TLS.

Are You G? shall retain personal data and other information provided by the user in the following instances: (1) active User account; and (2) as long as necessary for the fulfillment of the purposes for which the data was obtained; (3) for legitimate business interests, such as to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements; (4) when mandated by law: Provided, however, That upon cessation of the instances and/or purposes herein mentioned, all data provided to Are You G? may be utilized for statistical purposes only.

Security measures are implemented to ensure protection and safety of the User’s personal information. Are You G? observes the following security safeguards:

1. The personal information collected and processed from Users is not more than what is required by Are You G? to deliver its services;
2. Only authorized persons, employees, and officers are permitted to access personal information;
3. There is a continuous development and implementation of administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect your data from unauthorized access or against loss, misuse or alteration.
4. Execution of security measures and minimizing damage in case there is a notice of breach in any part of the system held by Are You G?.

We want you to be in control of your information, so we provide you with the following tools.

• Revoking permissions. In most cases, if you let us use your information, you can simply revoke your permission by changing the settings in the app or on your device if your device offers those options. Otherwise, User may contact the personal information controller cited below in order to effect, at any time, revocation or withdrawal of prior consent. Of course, if you do that, certain services may lose full functionality.
• Marketing emails and other direct marketing. Promotional communications may be received via emails upon subscription or direct request from Are You G? in the address and contact number herein mentioned. At any time, the User may unsubscribe or discontinue receipt of any marketing emails.
• Targeted advertising. You can opt-out of interest-based advertising on mobile applications by checking the privacy settings of your Android or iOS device and selecting “limit ad tracking” (Apple iOS) or “opt-out of interest-based ads” (Android).
• Rectification. Request correction of the personal data that we hold about you. This enables you to have any incomplete or inaccurate information we hold about you corrected.
• Deletion and portability. If for some reason you ever want to delete your account and all data associated with it, just contact us through our email. If you request, we can also provide you a copy of your personal data in an electronic format. We will respond to all requests within a reasonable time frame.

Like most online services, we and our partners use cookies and similar technologies to provide and personalize the Service, analyze use, target advertisements and prevent fraud. You can disable or delete any existing cookies in your browser settings, but some parts of the Service may not function properly.

We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data about or direct or target interest-based advertising to anyone under the age of13 or knowingly allow such persons to use our Services.
